Schoharie Valley

Welcome to our little corner of the world!

As you drive along Route 30 here in the Schoharie Valley, amidst all the beautiful scenery, you’ll be riding on the Timothy Murphy Trail, named after one of the heroes of the American Revolution.

A member of Morgan’s Rifles, Murphy is credited with firing the shot that mortally wounded General Frasier of the British forces at the Battle of Saratoga in October of 1778.

It was this battle that turned the tide of the Revolution to America’s favor. Don’t limit your visit to only the Schoharie Valley – there’s more beautiful scenery and much more history – throughout Schoharie County.
